Birthday Card for Convention Swap

Next month I will travel to Washington D.C. for Close To My Heart's convention. This will be my second time going to the biannual event so I know better what to expect! One of the things I enjoyed last time was swapping cards and artwork with other consultants. This time I decided to make several different card designs for different occasions. The first was a birthday card. This card was inspired from a Card Creations magazine. I like the bright colors from the summer palette and the touch of glitter on the candle flames.

Splendor

Here is another paper collection from the Summer 2010 Idea Book and Catalog. It's called Splendor. This is my favorite of the four new collections.

New Summer Artwork

Sadly I haven't spent time paper crafting in weeks! So here is a picture of artwork from the Summer 2010 Idea Book and Catalog featuring the new paper collection, Cherry-O. Once I have time I want to use this collection to make a recipe box. Close To My Heart has a new My Creations box and card kit to match.

I've been working on my continuing education in teaching. I have a few more weeks to keep that as my primary focus. I've had time for my other favorite hobby, reading. Books in series I'm reading were just released. I'm a fan of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood books and Lover Mine was just released and I thought it was great.

The Hole in Our Backyard

Back in December in lieu of Christmas presents my family contributed to the pool fund, and now several months later we are breaking ground! It's so exciting to see the process and everyone is eager to see the end result.

Canvas Art

This is another creation for the Wescosville Quarter Auction. I've played around with canvas before but was never happy with the outcome. I love this and I think I might need to buy more art canvas. The paper is from the Felicity collection that is no longer available. Good thing I stocked up when it was a special!
