Retreat Survival Kit

This weekend I had a fabulous time of crafting fun with Close To My Heart sisters and friends! We stayed at the Hamburg Hideaway. My friend Jolene and I came up with the idea for this retreat when we decided to not go to Close To My Heart's convention in California this year. Seven consultants and two customers were able to clear their schedules and join us on the retreat.

We ordered T-shirts from Two Chicks. Missy designed a logo with our retreat information and we had it printed on the back with a local printer. Jolene, Stephanie and I collaborated to make the "Retreat Survival Kit". I spent some time on Pinterest and other Internet sites searching for ideas or a poem and had no luck. So this is what we created.

Your retreat survival kit includes:

- Juicy fruit gum to get the creative juices flowing,

- Sticky notes and a pen to jot down those creative ideas,

- Pain reliever just in case you "hit a wall",

- Ear plugs for when you need to escape and relax,

- Candy because every retreat needs candy,

- And Sparkles because when all else fails bling it!

Thank you for joining us on our first retreat!

Crystal, Jolene, and Stephanie

I had the logo we used for the T-shirts printed on the post-it notes and pens through Vista Print. All the items fit inside the Gable Box SVG file I had from SVG Cuts. It was such a fun time and I'm hopeful that we'll all be together again for the second annual retreat in June 2015!

Welcome to the Joyful Stars June Blog Hop. This hop is a circle, so it doesn't matter if you are coming from Lori's blog or if you start here on my blog. Just continue around until you're back to the blog that you started on to make sure you see all the fabulous projects. This month I have two projects to share. Both feature the best paper pack to celebrate summer, Jubilee.

If you are interested in Cricut Design Space and the bendy card project check out this post. As long as you have Artiste and Art Philosophy, the Cricut Explore machine, and Design Space software you can access the project here and create your own bendy card.

Now it's time to go to Betty's blog for more inspiration. For a full list of bloggers on this hop look here.

Bendy Card and Cricut Explore Share

Yesterday I gathered together with Close To My Heart consultants for a unit meeting. I had requested a demonstration from my upline, Joyce, on how she made this card. The whole time we were using paper trimmers, scissors and as x-acto knife a few of us thought how much faster this could be if there was a cut file for our Cricut Explore! So yesterday I used shapes from Artiste and Art Philosophy to make a bendy card base. Here is how it looks in Cricut Design Space:

The green pieces will be the card base. The front pieces that bend have score lines for where they can be folded and adhered to the back of the main piece. The pink pieces will be the the decorative panels. Both the green and pink pieces have cut lines for where the tabs insert. The yellow pieces are decorative pieces to put on the back and hide the "mechanics" of the card. If none of the embellishments stick out then the card will fit in a standard envelope. This file is sharable but you need to have CTMH cartridges Art Philosophy and Artiste as well as the Cricut Explore and Design Space software. Here is the project link. Make sure to stop by again on Tuesday, June 10 for the Joyful Stars June blog hop. I have another bendy card to show!
