FSS 5th Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fred, She Said 5th Birthday Blog Hop!  We've been up and running 5 wonderful years!  The theme for this hop is Fred's FAVES  FLORAL and/or PURPLE!
If you have arrived from Carolyn's blog, you are right on track. If you are just happening by, you will want to start on the FSS Blog.

Collect a secret word on each blog along the way, leave us some love on our posts and follow the directions at the end of the hop for your chance to win this FABULOUS PRIZE!
One winner will receive ALL of this:
$25 Gift Certificate to the Fred She Said Store
$25 USD equivalent Gift Certificate to any online papercrafting store of winner's choice :)

Floral and Purple are two of my favorite things. For my card I chose one of the newer floral images from the store: Dogwood Branch. I used the pre-colored image and highlighted it with light green sparkles in the center.

Your secret word on my blog is: Fred,
Your next stop on the hop is Janet Kay's blog.
Winners will be selected on June 8th 2013 at 12:01 EST.

Have Fun and Good Luck!

Teacher Notecards

If you are a teacher or are looking for a gift idea for teachers, check out this download from Jennifer McGuire. She is one of my favorites in the world of papercrafting. She is offering this download for free but asking that you make a donation to the Red Cross. This evening I quickly made a set of thank you cards to mail to students and their families that gave me year end gifts. I'm thinking I may make some later this summer for back to school time for all my coworkers!

Simon Says Stamp Feb. Card Kit

For many months I was looking at purchasing the monthly card kits at Simon Says Stamp. In November of 2012 I took the plunge and subscribed. Now each month I get a box filled of goodies and an inspiration sheet. My problem is I haven't planned time to actually create. Now that school is out, and I am on summer vacation this is a priority! Each week I 'm going to take a kit and go to town! This weekend I started with the kit from February. I've made 8 cards so far and still have supplies to keep going. These four cards pictured are ones I created using the inspiration sheet from the Simon Says Stamp design team.

Fred, She Said Pansy Card

Pansies have never been a favorite flower of mine, but the Fred, She Said Colored Pansies are changing my mind. This image is beautiful!

Fred She Said Daisy Card

I love when it is easy to coordinate stamps and papers! I've been having fun with the Fred, She Said and Bearly Mine Designs Floral Surprise digital paper. This design works with the daisy I hand cut from the Fred, She Said Cardinal & Daises digital stamp set. I added some embellishments and twine from Close To My Heart to finish the card.

For You Card

I recently saw scrapbook layouts using this beautiful purple foiled paper. I hunted it down on sale at Joann's and got it last week in the mail. I made two thank you cards. Since the paper is so awesome I just framed a sentiment, added two stick pins and a ribbon bow. I also put liquid glass over the printed sentiment.

Have a nice day!

Today is National Scrapbooking Day. I spent part of the day at a unit meeting with Close To My Heart consultants. We didn't scrapbook, but we made a few projects including this card. It features the Dream Pop paper packet and Pinwheel, May 2013 stamp of the month. Both of these items can only be ordered this month.
